Scanning is usually completed from the original negatives. A negative roll feeder is used to control the flow of the negatives through the scanner. This eliminates the need to cut negatives from the roll and does not require the production of diapositives . The resulting negative imagery is then processed to "mirror" the histogram, which automatically converts the image to positive values.

Our Wehrli & Associates RM-4 photogrammetric scanner is capable of resolutions up to 3150 DPI with RMS error of image coordinates no more than 3 microns in RGB color or black and white. The non-orthogonality of reference axis X and Y is no more than 5 arc second. The scanner software has automated dodging capabilities to eliminate hot spots, vignetting, and other common scanning inaccuracies.

Our Vexcel 4000HT photogrammetric scanner is capable of resolutions up to 3000 DPI with geometric accuracies to 2 microns in RGB color or black and white. The Vexcel scanner also has automated dodging capabilities to eliminate hot spots, vignetting and any common scanning inaccuracies.
